Hangout time again

You may recall that late last year, some Kiwis and Aussies started a new initiative by hosting Google Hangouts with some of the English-speaking world’s leading new media practitioners in the Catholic sphere. We started with the Podfather, Father Roderick Vonhogen, then were joined by Jimmy Akin and some of the team from XT3.com, and rounded out the year with the podcasting legends Greg and Jennifer Willits.

Now, at the risk of prematurely ageing those fine individuals, we’re excited to have one of the new kids on the block join us for a Google Hangout this weekend. I’ve blogged many times about my admiration for the work of Brandon Vogt, who is an author and blogger from Florida, as well as someone who is travelling around the US trying to help bring the Church into the digital age. Brandon is a convert and brings the zeal and knowledge of the Catholic Faith that many converts bring.

I’m really excited to have Brandon on the Hangout, and he’ll be joined by my social media mentor, James Bergin, and Sarah and Emilie from the Cradio team. We’ll be streaming live at our lostsheep.tv YouTube channel, starting from 7.30pm Eastern in the US on Friday night, which is 11.30am Saturday on the Australian east coast (10.30am in Queensland) and 1.30pm on Saturday for those in New Zealand.

We’d love to have you come along and watch, either live or on the same channel after the fact. The papal abdication and upcoming conclave will obviously be a big topic for discussion, but we’ll also speak about some Catholic new media developments, like we always do. See you this weekend :)
